UK streaming service Lovefilm will offer subscribers Stephen King’s mystery series Under The Dome after coming on board the CBS Studios produced series.
The move comes after Channel 5 acquired the free-to-air rights to the US series earlier this month, which is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television.
The deal between Lovefilm-owner Amazon and CBS Studios was part of the drama’s original commission, withthe online retailer also distributing it viaits subscription VoD service in the US.
C5 will air the series this autumn, ahead of its Lovefilm release.
Under The Dome, which was developed for TV by Lost producer Brian Vaughan and ER showrunner Neal Baer, tells the tale of a small town that is mysteriously blocked off by a strange forcefield.
It was initially developed by US cable network Showtime before moving to sister network CBS.
This comes after CBS Studios International sold the series in 200 territories ahead of its launch to broadcasters including ProSiebenSat1 in Germany, M6 in France, RAI in Italy, Network Ten in Australia and Global Television in Canada.
