From The Bangor Daily News:
AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine authors Stephen and Tabitha King have made a substantial donation to a statewide group that is advocating for stricter gun control laws, according to the group’s website. The Coalition for a Safer Maine publicly acknowledged the Kings for the unspecified financial gift in an article posted on April 10 on its website.
According to the website, the Kings support proposed legislation that would expand background checks, ban high-capacity magazines and strengthen regulations preventing those legally found to be mentally ill from possessing guns. Proposed legislation on gun control is being heard this week at the State House in Augusta.
