Michael Clarke Duncan, the actor who received an Oscar nomination for the adaptation of Stephen King's "The Green Mile", died Monday, September 3rd at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California.
The 6'5", 325 lb actor had been hospitalized since suffering a heart attack in July 2012.
His career took off with his role in the film Armageddon, and his friendship with costar Bruce Willis helped pave the way for his role as wrongly convicted man-child John Coffey in "The Green Mile". Duncan was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. He was also well known for his roles in Daredevil, and Sin City, as well as vocal acting roles in Kung Fu Panda and Green Lantern. He recently starred on the (now cancelled) Fox TV show "The Finder".
A big man with a big heart. He will be missed.
