The first issue of Road Rage: Throttle is due out on Wednesday, February 13. USA Today did a good interview with Joe Hill about the comic and working with his dad, Stephen King.
"He had an idea about a motorcycle gang and a trucker who's following them, and it looked like pure action from beginning to end," King recalls. "I said, 'Let's do it, let's step on it.' "
The two finished the story in about a week, each rewriting the other's chunks of prose, "and it all blended together into one smooth creamy us milkshake," Hill says.
King had suggested to Marvel Comics that the company do a graphic-novel version of his Dark Tower books, and IDW followed suit wanting to adapt Throttle. (Hill also happens to write one of the publisher's most critically acclaimed and popular books,Locke & Key, with artist Gabriel Rodriguez.)
