EW has revealed this first official look at Daniel Radcliffe in the fantasy/thriller ‘Horns.’ Directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, High Tension) and based on Joe Hill’s popular novel of the same name, ‘Horns’ follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend. Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer.
Speaking to EW, Daniel Radcliffe describes his new role as, “deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways.” On the opportunity of playing Ig, Radcliffe says, “To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.” The widely acclaimed book was on the New York Times best seller list for six weeks, and has become an international bestseller as well. The likes of Juno Temple, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Max Minghella and James Remar also star in ‘Horns.’ Expect a release schedule announcement shortly.
